I know this is long. Please don't shoot the messenger here, but the NCAA actually created the rule requiring 600 tickets be provided to each visiting team between first and third base because they had so many complaints from LSU fans when we had to travel in the post season and could not purchase reserved seat tickets. We all know that LSU has always brought lots of fans on the road for baseball.

I am an old lady and I cannot remember the actual date LSU first had to relocate us in Old Alex Box, but we lost our seats along with a couple of other sections. I started a petition because someone in our section was going to miss the games because of skin cancer and could not sit in the sun and I thought LSU was handling the whole situation very badly. All they said was that it was an NCAA rule. To make a long story short I spoke to Dennis Poppe at the NCAA who was in charge of baseball, and he explained the reason for the new policy on visiting team tickets. I know that Rhana Gray in the AD's office was not popular around here, but Joe Dean had her contact me after he received my petition to find out which Tiger fans really needed some help/special consideration. She was very kind and made sure that everyone on the list that I gave her was relocated to somewhere else in the Grandstand area instead of out in the sun.

I do not necessarily think that the rule is bad, but LSU did not honor their word. We were told that the plan going forward was to hold out 600 seats between first and third and NOT sell them as "season tickets" once we made the move to the new stadium. Of course that did not happen because they sold everything they could as season tickets and we are still having large groups of our fans lose their seats for visitors each time we host a regional or super regional.

Anyway, we blame the NCAA for a whole bunch of stuff, but they were being responsive to our own very vocal fanbase and trying to make sure that visiting fans could get tickets other than general admission or SRO on road trips.

Sorry this was so long, but at least now you know the back story.

The first year they did the relocation of season ticket holders was 2009. I know because we were in the group (A) that lost their tickets (sec. 209 our seats and also sec. 210 and 218). there were 4 groups. every 4 times lsu hosted (regional and/or super regional) each group got moved. bad for us as this is our year to move.
