It took some absurd defensive plays, LSU without 4 starters, a dumb strike zone, and some bad calls by the umps but they won.

Good luck as a 4 seed in the Baton Rouge regional.

You think Nicholls state is making the Baton Rouge regional?

I hope Nicholls comes and plays at the Baton Rouge Regional. I would like nothing more for LSU to put a 15 burger on their asses.

Theyd have to win their conference tournament for it to possibly happen but they’re in first place in the Southland so its reasonable

I’m sure they tried to win their “World Series” by going with their entire bp

Your post sounds petty and bitter. Just be gracious.

Well, why didn't LSU do that tonight?

I really wish we’d stop saying “insert LA school that isn’t LSU” views LSU as their World Series.

It simply isn’t true in baseball. If it was football? Sure, but LSU losing to in-state schools in midweek baseball games is essentially a yearly occurrence. It’s ho-hum and forgotten about by the end of the week.

LSU made mental mistakes and hit balls right at people. The wind blows out come regional time and add white and Morgan to the lineup. Crews will not go cold a second time against Nicholls.

Nicholls pitched and array of midweek guys and relievers, also the best hitter on their team didn’t play tonight either

Nah they played better defense and wanted it more. We played like we were going through the motions and made little league errors. Congrats to them. Why is it when we lose we always try to justify it with it’s their Super Bowl comments. No we just lost because we didn’t come to play and they did.

Another CPM midweek games don’t count brain washed fool.

Get up with the times man. This mindset by the previous coach lead to 2 seed regionals. I like life better under CJJ where midweek games count. A healthy team would beat the shite out of these kids. Maybe you like forward to the next Stony Brook situation but I don’t.

You can’t be serious.

1991 LSU lost to Tulane twice, Northwestern St, SELA, and McNeese midweek.

93 lost to ULL, Lamar, McNeese, and Northwestern St.

96 lost to Northwestern St twice and Dayton

97 lost to UNO twice, ULM and ULL

2000 lost to McNeese twice

2009 lost to ULL, Nicholls, and Tulane

Don't disagree that they were more tuned into the game tonight. But that is what happens when you play the "super bowl". You are more adrenalized (Skip's word), pay closer attention to detail, typically make some other worldly plays, and stay focused all game. That often leads to better performances (sometimes career games) and sometimes upsets.
Give NSU credit. THey did what it took to win tonight while LSU looked a little tired and bored. IF they are that way on any SEC weekend they will lose or series and maybe even get swept. Kinda like ULL did this past weekend.

Look it was a good win for Nicholls. But this is where things usually go downhill for them. Big win then lose a series.

Yes they could be in Baton Rouge. It’s happen before but it’s highly unlikely. They would have to make a run and win their tournament to get an automatic bid.
