Zach,

I see you have been in some of those meetings. Ill give you a few from my Pepsi days.

Crystal Pepsi, a clear Pepsi, but it didnt taste like Pepsi?? So they launch this thing on the west coast for 10 days and then east of the MS the next 10 days. So the production guy calls me into his office with a 2 Liter of Clear Pepsi that they had air freighted him from the west coast that had "flocking". I just looked at him and said dont tell me we have about 100,000 cases in the trade displayed everywhere. He said yeah the arseholes in marketing did not want to hold the product before launching. Flocking is where the sugar crystals bind, it is horrendous in clear products because it looks like a bunch of luggies have been hocked in the drink. They fired that guy.

Then here in the Caribbean they decided to have Blue Pepsi for the holidays. The highest share market for Pepsi in the western hemisphere is Jamaica. He was adamantly against it and they would not listen. Killed the friggin brand for six months.

You see a lot of people still used kerosene for things in Jamaica. And because so many people drink Pepsi, the number one thing to get filled for kerosene was a 2 liter pepsi bottle. And you see, to ensure kids did not drink kerosene which is normally clear, the govt makes outlets put dye in it.....blue dye.
