Looks like we got ourselves another legitimate interstate rivalry
I’m sure you’re trolling, but when you think about it, LSU and Arkansas are the only SEC programs that don’t have to contend with another P5 program being in their state, vying for top in-state talent and large athletic donor support.

Not trolling actually, just making an observation. Interstate rivalries make for good competition and packed stadiums. Everyone benefits. The players get exposure, and the fans get excellent baseball. Plus the winning team gets bragging rights.
Love me some collegiate baseball.

LSU once again does not walk on water.
Going to take the team peaking performance at the right time to go to and win Omaha.

Looking forward to an LSU/UL-Lafayette rematch in a regional in Baton Rouge.
Yeah. A UL Lafayette vs LSU A&M College game would be a good rematch

F them and their illiterate students who have trouble getting into the better community colleges. The Flagship reigns supreme in the boot BTW their mascot is racist and about to be challenged in court.

Um no.
Meanwhile, your mascot came from a Confederate brigade. You really want to go down that road?

I always love to come check out TD when UL plays LSU in baseball.
TD is easily the best college sports forum site on the internet and LSU fans are probably the best fans in the country.
However, without fail, this exact thread is started every single time this game is played and it's hilarious to see the melts from some of the LSU guys. Especially when UL gets the win.
I mean what a terrible fricking thread from our man Andy Dwyer![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

ULL has a good team, they're legit.
They probably wouldn't fare as well vs our 1 or 2, but they played as well as some of the SEC teams we have played. They have some guys who can hit.
We lost a midweek game to a pretty good team.

It is funny how many people here are saying, "Well this was this super bowl!" No shite. Be proud of it, LSU. You are #1. Teams will try to beat you, regardless of the day of the week.

According to posts on this board on midweek games. If LSU wins, they matter. If LSU loses they don’t matter.

Pretty accurate, Current Cajuns head coach Matt Deggs was the hitting coach when the Cajuns were ranked #1 in the nation in 2014. The biggest roadblock to getting back to a higher level is not having that Friday ace or two that past UL teams had under Robichaux. Deggs’ teams will hit, the key to them getting back to top 25 consistency will be on the pitching end.
It’s always fun when UL plays LSU in baseball whether in a regional or just a “meaningless”midweek game.

I tried to read this thread, but couldn’t get past the 2nd page you’re so cringey. You—and this entire thread—are an embarrassment to LSU fans, and I am ashamed to be a part of the same fanbase as you. Be better or don’t post. Actually, both.

No way man, I’m actually writing a letter to the NCAA to ban midweek games. They literally don’t matter at all
Maybe you can write that letter to see about playing all midweek games. ULL got smoked this weekend.

No. They never mean anything unless LSU loses too many of them, like the previous staff did regularly. Then it pulls down RPI. But the purpose of those mid-week games is to develop players that don't play much on weekends and for some to work out issues that are exposed during the SEC. Beating ULL or Nicholls is expected but doesn't change the long game for LSU. Congrats and enjoy watching LSU in Omaha again.
