.8625 needs to be hung somewhere in the gymnastics facility. That's .044 per gymnast per event. That's what it would've taken to win. Just give 4.5% better next year in everything they do and they can be Champs.

Sorry, I'm an analytics person.

I saw the same thing just now and you’re right. The scoring for gymnastics is such a bullshite thing. There has to be a better, more accurate/consistent way.

You must be new. LSU Gym has not always been a big deal and they have had several opportunities over the last 7-8 years, but have run into the buzzsaw of OU/Florida.

LSUs best opportunities was that 2017 team but OU was OU. Not even the historic day In the semi finals would have been enough with what OU got during the finals

Questionable scoring happens for sure, but when you only stick two landings of your first 12 routines, you are not winning a National Championship. This has been a common issue for us in the Finals, we just do not hit landings on Bars and Beam like our opponents.

I just watched Haleigh’s Vault on Twitter. There’s no way that shouldn’t have been a 10!!

She forgot to wear her Florida leo today.

With all our injuries and going the the final four...kudos ladies for a great season and enjoy the rest.

Next year let's do it all!

It is simply to me. Do two things:

#1) Get Kiya back

#2) Get KJ healthy

Do those things and this team should have a chance to be outstanding on every event.

Great season for the tigers considering all the injuries. IMO if LSU wants to win a natty they are going to have to get better at beam. That’s the biggest difference between the other contenders

Beam definitely needs improvement. Bars were a little underwhelming this year as well.

Gymnastics is such personal opinion! Most biased scoring of all sports.

Imagine having Daniels throw a touchdown and someone saying oh it wasn't a pretty pass instead of six points you get four? That is Gymnastics!!!

And bars, in particular the dismounts but that’s been a ongoing issue for years. Not enough sticks or we have dismounts with form issues. The quality has not been the same since Priessman and Finnegan left. We have had good routines but maybe not enough 1-6

Beam they have to address the leaps and the dismounts. To many hops on landings. I will say there were less falls and not nearly as many melt downs on beam so that’s a step in the right direction but they have to improve in those other areas

I am 100% with you. I am simply saying that when it is time for us to stick landings, we simply haven’t. Those deductions added up big time and for example, I thought we were unreal tonight on bars from skills to handstands, but we got destroyed on landings every single time. Those add up.

Bars and beam have to be the focus in the off-season.

Anyone know why Jeffrey’s technique is such deep landings? On every apparatus? I think that’s what will really hold her back - the rest of her form and technique is exquisite.

I really am so proud of this team and everything they fought for. As I have said in the recruiting thread, I gave them no shot to make it here, or even the semifinals, after kiya went out. And then everything else on top of it. That being said, next year we could really do it with all the 2024 contenders leaving, Trinity going, etc. in my opinion, here is what needs to happen:

Vault: we can, at most, have one YF, everything else must be a 10.0 start; I think once KJ heals, they need to work on the double and push that hard. Same for Bryce.

Bars: Even if Alyona comes back, Jay needs to keep her out of the bars lineup. I know it’s hard but having that as the fifth score will never compete. We need to focus on form for dismounts - please find Aleah something easier to stick because that routine is otherwise amazing. Work with Cowan on that DLO because it is beautiful and imminently stickable.

Beam: this is where we need the most work and fully half of that beam lineup needs to be out next year. Sierra is an alternate at best, because, while I do love her consistency, the leaps are killer. Same with Elena; and Alyona is all over the place. I think with a healthy Kiya and Annie maybe some of that will work itself out, but otherwise we need to go back to the drawing board on almost everything. And if haleigh doesn’t need that standing front tuck for start value, then, for the love of all things, take it out, at least for the post season.

Floor:

Here, let’s continue to polish Chase, and give more people opportunities earlier. I hesitate to say it, but I would consider removing Sierra if we have someone more polished for the leadoff. All the other top teams are leading off with an exquisite 9.9 - that’s what we need to find.

But I am so incredibly impressed by this team and how far they made it. I think a team with a healthy Aleah, Haleigh, and Kiya, and some other key players, has a real shot next year!

I loved Sami, but I felt like one was coming every time she was on beam.

She really could be great. We need her to step up and become the next very dependable gymnast on next year's squad.

I absolutely adore her and I was hoping that she would perform for us, but it just didn't happen for her in the finals. I'm not too versed in who we have coming in, but I kinda hope for the team that she has to find a spot in the rotation and that she's able to do it.

I just want to say I’m super proud of the team. I was so incredibly thankful to be able to watch them.

I’m very disappointed in judging once again. It ruined watching this from out the gate. It shows every post season, and particularly on this night on that stage. Teams are never judged the same. I don’t even know what could help unless the ncaa pulls in judges from other countries, but I imagine over time, they would also become biased. I’m starting to feel like no other team will beat OU. They should have never been leading after that vault rotation, and then left some cracks in the door after beam, but once again.. judges.
