I just don’t see racism all over the place like the media wants me to believe

Yup I get the red neck Georgia coach with his stupid video a few posts up or down. That dude is dumb
But I just moved to Atlanta a few months ago and one of my concerns about moving here was that blacks hates whites, whites hate blacks and everybody hates Asians and that it’s a very very very very racist city.
Since moving here I have been everywhere in Atlanta - Six Flags, sporting events, Downtown events, restaurants, bars, gym, walking around mid town and downtown, malls, movies, etc etc etc.
I have been extremely active exploring the city and suburbs and due to my job, I have been everywhere around the metro.
I have not seen one single ounce of racism anywhere in this area. From employees working in establishments to customers of establishments to people I’ve met everywhere between.
In fact, people who are not my race have been very friendly and just normal people who just want to live good lives.
I guess my rant here is that the media and gov tries so hard to divide us and it is sickening to me.
Believe it or not, most people enjoy other people’s company and most people are just super nice people who don’t look at color, race, gayness, etc.
It’s truly a great place to live but from what I have heard on tv and on the national news, I was going to get shot, murdered from a hate crime and robbed the very first day I stepped foot in Atlanta.
I just don’t understand why they try so hard to divide us. I get that it’s all part of the control us narrative but if the national news were to die tomorrow, this country would immediately become a much better and more enjoyable place to live.

Angry divided people drives ratings and increases voter turnout. Drama and victimhood sells.

When everything is racist, nothing is racist.

I travel all over the country, and I don't see it either.
I do run across generally unpleasant people, but I don't attribute their unpleasantness to racism. Some people are just assholes.
What I have noticed is that if you look people in the eyes, smile and be nice, they are most likely to respond in kind. Even if I'm having a tough day, I try to mask that for the sake of the people who had no role in my day being the way it is.

Well I came from a very conservative Florida panhandle and never saw racism. I truly thought I was living in a bubble in the panhandle so yea, I did believe that about Atlanta because I was told from the media that’s how it is in Atlanta. So yea, I guess I’m a “moron”

I see 1000X more hate, racism, and divisiveness on the screen of my phone than I do anywhere else.

That’s because you aren’t counting micro aggressions, which I’m told exist everywhere all the time but are invisible to me because I’m a white male.

Well no one is going to publicly display any racism they may somehow have unless they’re stupid enough to do it. And there’s been plenty of stupid people in this world showing us who they likely always were.

Oh so when someone of a different race holds the door open for me, high fives me at a Braves game, high fives me after riding next to them on a roller coaster at six flags, or strikes up a conversation with me while standing in line at the grocery store, they are just pretending to like me to hide their racism? Is that what’s happening here?????
Gosh, I’m sooooooo gullible!!! I really need to start putting my guard up in these situations!!

Racism isn't a major problem in this country anymore. The most egregious examples today are probably Affirmative Action, diversity quotas etc.

Divide the people and they are easier to rule. This has been done for centuries.

That response should have been directed at the biggest race baiting douche here, c on z. I’m firmly convinced that his is just schtick, too.
