but why does everybody hate him?
I think a lot of people here like his music.
But people here seem to dislike him because his politics are left of center, he is fairly vocal about it and most people these days (on both sides) can’t handle people having differing views from them.

You're close, at least for me.
I think you should put your politics right there in your music, do it well, whatever they are. If you've got no politics at all, make sure that's in your music too.
Don't go explaining it and go acting like you're Woody Guthrie.

His voice is weak and he likes to sing about killing babies.

People were fine with it. Then one side started actively censoring and getting the other cancelled. Now it's game on.
Isbell is notable because he grew with, no doubt, more left of center views but amped that up to racial attacks, lecturing his audience and making a big covid fuss, so a lot of people grew tired of him. The Bono effect, if you will.

I am a huge fan of his. Seen him live three times, have all his records, etc.
My issue isn’t that he’s left leaning. My issue is how hateful his rhetoric has been towards those he hates politically. I say hate because he has said some vile things. Just nasty. When I followed him on Twitter, he even told a fan directly he didn’t want people “like him” at his shows bc he said something that went against whatever outlandish narrative the left was pushing that week.
Basically said he would never tolerate anyone with different views yet that is the majority of his fan base. So that begs the question: who is really the intolerant one? Based on his past posts, he would hate me if he knew me personally, yet I still enjoy his music.

I mean it used to not be this way but not putting kids on puberty blockers is now seen as genocide. So newtons laws and all.

Eh, I don't think this is all of it. Plenty of conservatives ignore their favorite lefty musician's political views.
Isbell was more or less of us, from Alabama, etc. and many of us cheered his rise and recovery. He was an edgy outsider who went to Nashville to show them what real music was, and then proceeded to turn into a slick, popular, leftist drone who is more aligned with the HR departments of Fortune 500 companies, celebrities and major media outlets than he is the down-on-their-luck people of the South. And he did it while expressing lots and lots of disdain on the places and people from which he rose.
But all that aside, my problem is that the above saga made him a far worse musician, his songwriting suffered majorly as his credibility dropped.

You seem to be unaware of being vocal in politics these days, particularly on the left, involve attacking the other side.
I don’t know much about isbell, but tried to check him out based on recommendation and he went from one song being a good old boy country town song to the next being some shameful good old country boy song. To me he seemed to be pandering and insincere based on that so I turned it off

He complains and whines about everything.
