I manage a 92 acre recreation facility. We run diesel Kubotas, from 54-72". Our grooming mowers for the playing fields are Toro Groundsmaster 3505-Ds... which utilize a Kubota diesel motor.
My personal is a Kubota zg222. It is a gas burner, but the motor is still made by Kubota.
Had a few Scags in the past, and they're probably fine for residential use. But didn't stand up to daily use. We needed something with serviceable bearings, and true drive shafts to gear boxes. Belts don't last long in commercial use.

That’s about 89 more than the average mower on the OB. When I bought my first mower the guy selling it it me said “ I can sell you more than you need and you will be happy or I can sell you what you need and you will be happy”!!
