Not really, the advanced stats kinda help explain or validate the counting (traditional) stats.

Pretty much, the advent of these advanced stats have made baseball a lot more competitive in the last decade. Teams with little money compared to the big market teams are able to legitimately compete for championships because of them. The Rays/Indians for example.
