Louisiana is no different than every other state with pensions for teachers: they’re all massively underfunded and thus unsustainable.

The 26% I mentioned in funding from the employer included the UAL payments. So, with those contributions it is sustainable. Which makes sense, your basically saving 1/3 of each teacher’s salary, investing it, and in some cases never paying out all the contributions to retirees.
