Exactly. At 10.95%, LP already has a higher maximum sales tax than 97% of the country.

Livingston Parish Has No Levy on the Parish-Level Sales Tax

While many counties do levy a countywide sales tax, Livingston Parish does not. The Louisiana sales tax of 4.45% applies countywide. Some cities and local governments in Livingston Parish collect additional local sales taxes, which can be as high as 6.5%.

Here's how Livingston Parish's maximum sales tax rate of 10.95% compares to other counties around the United States:

* Higher maximum sales tax than 83% of Louisiana counties
* Higher maximum sales tax than 97% of counties nationwide
