Since JJ is able to play now, there is no way he would have gotten a medical redshirt. His redshirt was not burned during the tulane game.

Yes, it was. Prior to Hatch's injury, Miles was adamant about Jefferson being redshirted and that he was injured doing his few plays. Those plays happened early enough in the season to still qualify for a MEDICAL redshirt. It's my understanding that the days of playing a few plays early in the season and still deciding to take a non-injury redshirt are over.

But yes, Les said it multiple times that the plan was to RS Jefferson for medical reasons. The fact that he "got better" had nothing to do with his ability to claim that as a reason...since if they never played him they could simply have said he was unable to play. By playing him against Tulane, that card was then delt.

LSU would not have been able to prove that he was out for medical reasons, therefor the NCAA would not have given a MEDICAL redshirt.

You can't have a minor injury, miss a few games and then take the rest of the year off and claim it was a season ending injury.
