Current racing game most similar to Forza Motorsports 2? (NOT Horizon)

A random question but I used to really enjoy the regular Forza 2 on 360 and sort of have the itch again to find something similar on either PS5 or pc.
I tried one of the later on Forza's on Xbone, maybe Forza 5, and I just didn't like it as much
The feel of Forza 2 plus the upgrade system was damn near perfect to me so I guess I'm just asking what game available right now do yall think Is most similar to it on PS5 or PC so I can try it out
I've been out of the loop awhile but my guess is i either need to get the latest Forza or more likely the newest gran turismo

Gran Turismo 7 (it's also still on PS4). And if you REALLY feel like spending some money get a PSVR2 headset because VR driving in awesome.

Forza 7 is on Gamepass so you can try it and see if you like it. Forza 8 is coming out later this year.
