I'm looking to plant 2 orange trees in the next few weeks. Which is the best variety of orange tree for this area? Located in St. Charles Parish.

I have an owari satsuma that I’m kinda hoping didn’t survive the freeze cause I want to replace it with a miho satsuma. Miho’s are supposed to be cold hardy down to 14F.

Washington Navel and Moro Blood Orange. The Blood Orange will take at lease 5 years to fruit.

The LSU Ag Center has an excellent guidebook on cirtus: LINK

Interested to hear opinions on this. I lost a number of them over the last few years due to freeze. My favorite was an N33 (think Florida oranges). Died above the graft and I just cut it down.

I'm leaning towards a Navel Orange Variety. Great literature from LSU AG!

Owari and Washington navel. Louisiana sweet does well too but gets big.
