As for as financial compensation for players out from WBC injuries, there is an insurance that protects MLB teams for the salary owed to those players. They have to pass a physical to play in the WBC. That’s why dodgers didn’t allow Kershaw to play. He didn’t pass the physical. Still doesn’t help Mets that lost Diaz for the season though.
