If you get a hold of the videos of practice, Sage looked good and is a major player in the highlights. I know it’s “PRACTICE “ but still it’s great to see him 100% healthy and the talent he has wasn’t overrated. I believe and hope he can put it all together this year. He came in with Elite talent and high expectations but hasn’t lived up to the hype yet, I think we’ll see big things from him this year. He’s been dogged out some on the rant and rightfully so. This year I think Sage shows what was expected of him early. He was hurt freshman year and under the tutelage of O and staff, last year played good in spots and bad in others. Don’t give up on Ryan yet I believe he makes a difference this year under the Kelly Regime.

I hope he does great, he's been servicable, but you really can't tell how somebody is going to be from 1 level to the next until they are out there playing against elite competition.

Also some of these guys make strides later on in their careers, like CBK says, these guys have to come to practice, not to win their 1 on 1's but to compete and elevate their play and mindset everyday to that of an elite player.

We are really going to need him this year after the mass exodius of the DB group!

Kid was average his underclassman years and people shite on him. You think they would have learned their lesson with Damone Clark but rantards love to give up too early on a kid because of fake internet stars

Hes played nickel or dime, and like you mentioned, has been banged up. He's isn't a true cb... we've just been extremely thin at cb his first 2 years. We've been deep at safety, so he's helped fill our biggest need. Even a lot of the moss'd moments he's had against him, we're just great plays by the offense. At some point luck will turn if he continues to be in good positions. Rooting for him

I've always thought most of the criticism he received was unwarranted.

I hope he’s on the Ron Brooks or Dwayne Thomas trajectory. As he gets older, his play on the back end gets more valuable.

He was playing 1 on 1 coverage on players he shouldn’t have been on, but he wasn’t getting burnt. Was in great positions to make a play, just didn’t finish.

The hate he gets is unwarranted

He just wasn’t an immediate impact guy. But he is around the hall a lot, that usually bodes well for some future success

Sage’s biggest issue is his size. He’s usually in the right place, but any receiver with any size at all can dominate him. God forbid he gets matched up on a TE. He’s listed at 5’11, but is probably more like 5’8-5’9”.

I appreciate that he has stuck it out through the bad times, but he was never the 5* he was rated as.

I’ll say this, Sage Ryan hasn’t been great but he has been closer to good than people give him credit for.

He’s shown he can keep up with players but he hasn’t made plays on the ball, but if he can get to the point where he’s getting his head around and breaking up passes he can be good.

I think it should be applauded that the guy is still here. How many 5*s in today's college football make it to their upperclassman years when they have a 5* ranking but don't get the immediate playing time and fans start shitting on them. Well done for sticking it out, Sage! Hoping for a great year!

Hoping to see the light come on for him in year 3, much like it did for Jacoby Stevens.

The 'potential' for this year's DEF is off the charts.
At each level - DL, LB and DB - there are multiple talented players who can impact a game. Can't wait to see DC House put it all together & turn them loose.

He’s been in good position coverage wise most of the time , he just needs to finish through the ball to complete the pass break up . People notice him more because of how well Flott performed at nickel his last year with team. He should do fine this year if he’s healthy .

Great example of why you don’t give kids extra stars for playing both ways in HS
