Probably will find out next Monday if Hannibal is staying or leaving, I assume if he is leaving he is in summer session classes in an attempt to graduate which ends this coming Saturday. He can leave as a grad transfer anytime without needing a waiver (would be his 3rd transfer) Otherwise looking at August 5th which is a bit late in the game to switch schools regardless of status.

With only Cook as a true and capable PG and not knowing if a waiver will be granted I'm sure CMM is a little nervous with Hannibal's roster spot - even if he stays. Before Collins fell in our lap that spot was likely trending backcourt help. The staff was recruiting several other experienced and quality PG's even after Cook signed on so it sure looks like there could be something going on behind the scenes. The kid from Rutgers would be a nice fallback but I don't think we are being considered (KY, Michigan, and Washington are leading).

Great perspective on the possibilities. I can't believe that Cook won't get a waiver to LSU since he could argue being closer to home will improve his mental health AND he will have academic credits from LSU from his freshmen year. Stewart has some nice ballhandling skills and could serve as a secondary ballhandler but wouldn't want to rely on him as a primary point guard. Kerr Kriisa from West Virginia might become available also through the transfer portal with Huggins' departure from West Virginia but don't see that as an option unless Cook doesn't get a waiver. Cook and Kriisa are both ball dominant and likely wouldn't fit well together. In either case we do need some depth at point guard if Hannibal were to leave. Williams may end up being better than expected but tough to rely on a freshman for pivotal minutes. I do believe that Hannibal would end up being more effective with this year's team since it will be much harder to clog the lane against his penetration with the ability to kick out to much improved shooters such as Cook, Baker, and Stewart plus you will have Collins running to the rim for lobs. It will be interesting to see how the roster plays out but definitely seems like we may see one more roster move before the team is set.
