I would book the train in advance just in case.
LINK
Bayeux from St. Lazare.
Will need to change the date to whichever day your trip is, and you might need to click something that says previous journeys, it defaults to the 10AM train.

I agree with the people who advise you to spend the night in Bayeux and even spend a few days there if you can. It is a wonderful little town.
In 2019 we spent a few days in Paris, rented a car, drove to Bayeux on a Thursday, took the all day Overlord tour on Friday, drove to Mount St. Michel on Saturday, stayed in Bayeux on Sunday (which was Easter) and drove back to Paris on Monday where we stayed for a few more days. That was a fantastic trip.
Normandy is doable as a day trip from Paris but just barely. It would really be an ordeal to get there that morning by train and private drivers from Paris are very expensive and take you on an abbreviated tour because of time constraints.
But this is definitely a tour worth taking.
