As a life-long academic, I assure you this is not just about money (although it is mostly about money). I did not receive these, though I am one of very very few LSU alums in legal academia. I intend to respond. Thank you for sharing it.

FYI, although UF has paid my salary for 42 years, I bleed purple and gold. Very proud of my two degrees at LSU.

The Louisiana regular session convenes next month so he’s taking a road trip across the state to showcase the university’s latest achievements with the hope to secure additional funding from the state legislature.

He timed it perfectly. With bank failures running rampant, it appears LSU offers a better return.

His statement emphasizing the liberal arts is all good, but we are an A&M University. No real surprise coming from his woke azz tho.

LSU was an institution before it became an A&M college. It is Louisiana State University AND A&M College. LSU is the flagship of higher education in this state and has had the arts and sciences from its beginning as a military institution. LSU is not like Miss State or Texas A&M or Auburn. We are more like the University of Georgia which is a flagship AND and A&M College.

I took 3 or 4 of his classes. Really liked Hoffman a lot. Genuinely regret not going to office hours with a few professors looking back on things.

Since a thread was started on this subject, allow me the opportunity to expound on my position as it relates to my alma mater:

Our great, historic, and shining university must prioritize academic excellence and apply rigorous admissions standards to effectuate a fundamental transformation and leap in nationwide rankings across multiple areas of study.

Deviate from the party school image.

The jest of my comment was that Tate made sure to emphasize the liberal arts which dovetail with his Marxist CRT much better than the sciences. He is poison for LSU, just like LaToya is poison for NOLA, Broome for BTR etc. And my comment has zero to do with skin color; only political doctrine.

Thus far, he seems to be an upgrade on our previous Presidents, John Lombardi and F. King Alexander.

Both Texas A&M and Auburn are state flagship universities. The state of Texas has three. State of Alabama has two.

Compare the student outcomes and research productivity of Georgia and LSU. LSU should be like Georgia, but we seem to aspire to be Georgia State.

Maybe you should start getting your information elsewhere? Or just lack the understanding of what liberal arts entails?

President Tate's Scholarship First Agenda

LSU's fierce drive for excellence is rooted in our mission to impact and serve Louisiana—providing pathways to higher learning, addressing critical problems through ground-breaking research and discovery, and bettering the lives of citizens in every parish.

Louisiana is at the center of many of our nation’s core challenges and opportunities because of our geography, culture, and economy. LSU— through the collaborative teamwork of all of our campuses—will create solutions essential to the future of our state and nation. As identified by President Tate during a state-wide listening and learning tour, we have the people and expertise to solve problems related to food and fiber production, health, our coast, defense, and energy, and to realize the many opportunities they present. But our commitment doesn’t stop here.

Our vision is aspirational, and we embrace the responsibility of ascending to our potential. In service to our state, LSU is committed to achieving excellence in all areas—for our students’ success and to elevate Louisiana for the benefit of all.
