For some jobs they are inflated. Overall I agree. LCOL and family ties helps keep a lot of people in the state.

Also this is a major reason why so many people in Southeast Texas are either from Louisiana or have family ties to Louisiana. The amount of people around here that have connections to Louisiana is insane. At times it doesn’t even feel like Texas it feels like an extension of Louisiana.
