Let this sport die if hitters can't figure this out. Games are so boring now and MLB can't figure out decent rule changes, ever. Mind numbing watching a team vacate half the field and a guy refuses to learn how to bunt or poke it to the other side. These guys get paid millions, and can't go opposite field. Let the sport die.

“Let the sport die”….but why?

It never was a loophole. You go the other way with the infield it's a single. You shift the outfield and the gap becomes the grand canyon. It's still just math.

I expect that to change this year with the new rules. Pitch clock, plus the shift ban is going to affect pitchers. I think we will see more 8-6 games than 2-0. Not saying it’s better or worse, but I think it’ll happen.

If it does, it sucks for pitchers in a contract year.

You have to cater to those who aren’t watching to grow your market .

I also Think even the die hard baseball guys will admit their favorite part of the game isn’t watching a hater adjust his gloves or watching a hard hit ball die in the shift.

I think the shift should have lived. I also think each batter should be able to use a loaded ExoGrid for one at bat per game.

Let’s see some fireworks.
