Guys, you have to chill. You really think Matt MacMahon forget how to coach basketball in the second half of the season? This was a team who had zero scholarship players 9 months ago! The very fact they won early tells you he can coach but lack of depth combined with injuries and personal issues with players had them short handed the second half of the year. Give Coach Mac two years and he’ll be top three in SEC.

You might as well give it up. Half of the fan base wants Mcmahon’s and Woodwards head on a platter and there is nothing you can say to change their minds no matter how sensible you are.

They barely beat some really bad teams. I played and coached, and it was a pretty clear sign that SEC play was going to be rough.

I’m not going to agree that he will have LSU top three in the SEC in two years, but I do agree that he should be given a fair shake at turning this mess around.

Blowing a 12 point lead in 3 minutes is coaching. 3-4 shots and multiple turnovers in 3 minutes is coaching. Getting housed by 12 after being up 12 is freaking coaching. And I don’t care who is on the court.

I personally think across the board we did not have the size, strength, depth from top to bottom to compete against an sec shedule. Wade used to talk about this very thing and how hard it was to keep enough beef on the roster to not get pushed around. I actually do think CMM can coach. But a problem I do see is recruiting. He needs to get really good on the recruiting front in a hurry or he will never make it.

If there is one major sport that has to sacrificed for the good of others let it be men’s basketball.

He’s Going to need to revamp is offensive philosophy’s . And he desperately needs at least 2 guards that can not only control the game offensively but also limit dribble penetration on D

And what has he shown your brilliant basketball mind that suggests this is even possible?

McMahon is a black hole of excitement who has, in a single season, totally undone all progress made by Will Wade. What recruits do you think are going to want to come here? Only the ones who are on the borderline of being good enough to contribute in the SEC. And when is the last time anyone built a consistent contender in a major conference like that?

injuries and personal issues

Huh? Juice Hill is shooting 29% from the field…. He’s one of the worst players to ever get minutes here. His absence was a positive in the fact that it prevented Mcmohan from giving him 30 minutes a game. Why would that be an excuse? LOL

Also, what catastrophic injury led to the season falling off? Cam Hayes? Trae Hannibal? Those guys aren’t good either. That didn’t change any outcome.

Beating Arkansas to open SEC play was the absolute worst thing that could of happened to this team. It turned a good start with a weak team, into oMg WeRe GuNnA wIn ThE sEc.

Needless to say, that crowd's expectations have come flying down like a meteor.

Tie game, 2 minutes left, last home game of the year. Hayes dribbles the ball for 28 seconds, no passes, no touch inside to KJ, stepback airball 3. That is coaching
