We’ve had threads about this in the past so you’ll get lots of suggestions. A good all around brand is Garrett. It’s not a hardcore relic hunter’s brand but it will do a good job and is sophisticated enough to be a good coin hunter on the beach and shallow water. Someone will give a specific model…something in the AT line costing about $250 on Amazon maybe?

You are very lucky to live in an area where people have been dropping metal objects for centuries.

This guy is pretty spot on. I used a bounty Hunter from hobby lobby for years and it worked well. My lady got me a Garrett A/T pro and I could not be happier .
