Peterson or Davis..are upgrades imho.

Saban was a 43-26-1 HC when Harry Met Sally aka Saban became LSU's HC..

Miles was 28-21 when when LSU came calling..

Both were bowl game bums at their last stop before LSU, yet won the BCS title here, by finally locking down La's talent that had won titles for FSU(Warrick Dunn) and Fla(Ike Hilliard) and Miami(Ed Reed)..etc..

There at least twenty college HC out there that would take the job if offered, that could easily maintain the course with La's output, also it's proximity to Texas and the Coast/Panhandle.

I don't know if the current "hot seat" culture can continue to thrive. Look at some of the programs that fire average coaches or struggling coaches, they are no better than they were 4 years ago. For every Nick Saban there are at least 2 ed orgerons.

This new hot seat culture is a trend and I think that when coaches like Charlie Weiss, Ed Ogeron, and Greg Robinson fail to put a materially better team on the field than their predecessors (don't give me this ty willingham bullshite Weiss has been there for 4 years and his only 2 good years were with Willingham's recruits)

Change does not necessarily guarantee success, only higher costs and I think AD's will see this trend. Bottom line is that I think it will be more acceptable to have 8-5, 7-6 seasons in the future.

That said, he will, considering he stops the bleeding and there is improvement next year, be fondly remembered as successful.

Miles needs to calm down in pressure situations and make sound football decisions before you go building any statues for him.

Agreed...Let's make sure he doesn't waste timeouts or loose track of time before we do something irrational

I think so, jmo. Expectations have become super high at LSU now. I think LSU will drop a game this season to Ole Miss or Arky too. I don't think he'll fire or demote his co-D coordinators either. I don't see how LSU will be exceptionally better next year. The West is only getting stronger also.

Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just another guy on the internet who knows everything.

I'm proud of the fact that the only thing in bronze is our Tiger and that the stadium is "Tiger Stadium" and not named after someone.

No one player or coach is bigger than this program.

They already have a plan for him sitting next to Larry Coker comparing their rings.

Bama Boy,

Larry Coker had a much better winning percentage than Saban ever did. His worst year 6-6 + cheap bowl win...sound familiar? Got him fired at Miami. At Bama, Saban was praised for that record. How sad for your school.

in 30 or so years from now there will be a statue/memorial of some sort for LES MILES as he will be our "legend" of a coach in the history books.

Already is a "Legend" in the history books. No coach before him ever won 11+ games consecutively.

IF he stays at LSU..he'll be honored in some way.
