KC just won the Super Bowl with a QB getting paid $45M per year.

Patrick Mahomes is a unicorn. He is 1/1 and is the only QB worth that much money.

They also have an elite "WR1" who gets paid half of what traditional elite WR1s get paid. They really took advantage of the difference in the TE market and the WR market. It's really hard to fill out the rest of the roster with a QB and WR making big money. It was a huge problem for the Falcons with Ryan and Julio.

Because their backup OL came back down to earth against Kansas City? Chris Jones deserves a lot of credit here too. He was a game wrecker that day.

The Chiefs fans on this board have become completely insufferable.

Good lord Joe Burrow and the Bengals still live rent free in y’all’s minds.

This thread just shows that you are terrified of them and hoping they fall by the wayside. I don’t know why y’all also assume the Chiefs have cleared the Bills. The Bills literally beat the Chiefs this season. The Bengals thumped the Bills in the 2nd rd, which saved the Chiefs from playing a neutral site title game and also probably having to win a game without biased officiating in your favor. (Hamlin effect)

Burrow still hasn’t had a normal offseason or a competent o line. If either happens, that will more than offset any cap issues in a sport where the cap is incredibly easy to manipulate.

Burrow and the Bengals are going to be a pain in the arse until 2040. Mahomes might have another 5-6 years of peak based off of his playstyle and Andy Reid getting up there in age as well. Enjoy it while it lasts.

A lot of people don’t know ball or quarterback play here. Burrow actually graded out significantly higher than Mahomes in that AFC championship game. Significantly.

People only know how to count INT’s in the box score, but they don’t understand why they happen or that they can be other people’s fault at times.

Ex: Tee Higgins immediately blamed himself for the first INT. Nobody even asked him the question. He just came out and said he read the coverage and leverage wrong and it was his fault.

Pick 2. Burrow was hit as he was throwing on 3rd and 3. He still delivered a dime 50-55 yards down the field. The backup safety that was 1/1 on Tee made a remarkable play and tipped the ball. It got Intercepted by a corner trailing the play for effectively what was a 60 yard punt. If burrow doesn’t get hit while he is throwing, maybe he throws that ball 1-2 yards further and it’s a TD. But again, it’s another example of an INT, that’s not really a negative play on his part.

I agree. As long as you protect Burrow he will be fine offensively. They will likely lose Higgins after this year unless he takes a pay cut. Defensively has been proven to stall the Chiefs more often than other teams. Not scoring 31ppg like they do usually. Chase and Higgins have been tough to handle.

So you think when he is 33 he will be done? Why do you think that? Only way would be injury…

Andy Reid is 64. He will be there till Mahomes is gone

And Hurts outplayed Mahomes in the superbowl right?

Burrow did not outplay Mahomes. What’s your outplayed argument bc statistically you can’t in that game! Mahomes beat him in every relevant category.

Burrow under threw both and decision to go deep into double coverage is risky. Hey, when you have a stud WR goin against two rookies it’s worth a shot…or maybe not

I'm not particularly a Burrow guy, I'm an Alabama and Steeler fan, how could I be? But this is ridiculous, Burrow is a top 3-5 QB and a legit star.

The Bengals are a very incomplete team with big gaps. They're still struggling mightily with the O-Line and their secondary will need to be rebuilt this year. They have issues, Burrow isn't one of them.

Jessie Bates III, Vonn Bell, Eli Apple, Tre Flowers, Michael Thomas and Germaine Pratt are all free agents going into this year. Going to be likely that the defense will have some drop-off.

Again you are looking at things from a simpleton point of view. Counting stats vs actually evaluating the plays, what is open, etc.

One QB received elite blocking in the game. The other was Joe Burrow. One player also received officiating breaks in the game. The other was Joe Burrow.

Also, the 2nd Int wasn’t double coverage. I won’t get dive deep into the minutia of nfl coverage schemes, bc you won’t understand it anyway.

But for due purposes, Highins was essentially 1 on 1 with a backup safety on that play. There was a corner trailing the play and he ended up making the int bc the ball was tipped 10 feet up into the air and he was close enough in the area to get under it only bc it was tipped.

It wasn’t a double coverage yolo toss. Also, even if it was. It was 3rd down. Burrow was getting hit and no other read was remotely open.

There are times I troll to poke fun at others and/or their biases. There are times I am just being honest. I am just being honest in this thread. In the spirit of honesty, I’ve noticed you have developed a hard on for me in other threads. You never really say anything of value back. But here is your attention. I acknowledge your existence.

That fandom makes sense. The weird ones are the LSU fans who couldn't find Cincinnati on a map suddenly becoming diehard Bengals fans.

5-6 years? What are you smoking? You're just as bad as the OP with this. Mahomes is going to play another decade, minimum, unless he has some catastrophic injury. Heck, look at the injury Burrow sustained two years ago and he's improving annually.

That's insane. Mahomes will be a top 2-3 QB for another 10 years if healthy.

Chiefs were in man coverage. Higgins blew by Watson the corner and had a step on him. Cook the safety was sitting right there!!!! Two Chiefs were in Higgins hip pocket at the 45 yard line and caught it at the 20!! That’s the definition of throwing into DOUBLE COVERAGE!!

Yes it was 3rd and 3. You do realize when you go deep…the OL has to block (which they weren’t all night) stupid desperate play in the scheme of things. Got greedy and paid the price! Under thrown because to your point he was hit. They were desperate all night. That 4th down deep into DOUBLE COVERAGE to Chase simply a play that the Bengals have two stud WRs that can beat it at times.

Here is the link if you’d like to watch it again Double Coverage
