I’m not sure this favors the pitcher as you suggest. With the faster pace, the pitcher may get a little winded in a long inning. JJ called a mound meeting one inning just to let Skenes catch his breath.
Also the TV broadcast needs to adjust to the new pace. We missed quite a few pitches because they were showing replays, graphics, etc.

I noticed this early in the game, for sure. Not positive that it just wasn't poor awareness on the broadcast team, but I guess we'll see. It bothered me, but not as much as losing a strike or losing time for a bullpen arm to get ready. Again, I just don't want to see a hitter lose an at bat bc he wants time to breathe or a pitcher hurt himself rushing the pitch clock or to get ready in the pen. If nothing changes, we'll see more balls called on the pitcher, too, and I hate that just as much. I expect clever ways to skirt the rules, though. LSU has worked on the clock, and still seemed rushed. On to plan B.

Not sure if you’re serious. Skenes threw a 12 strikeout shutout. Him being winded probably had more to do with his first start than the pace of play. Plus doesn’t the pitcher have an extra 10 seconds to throw the ball compared to the better getting ready?
A big part of pitching is getting into a rhythm. This is much easier when the batter has to be in the box so quickly.
