I see why you like soccer so much.

Yo seem unaware that there are tactics in soccer. Unsurprising.

My thoughts exactly. The last year+ in soccer on the world stage has been on over officiating, over reviewing, and inconsistent definitions across the board and from call to call.

Is it a goal/offside the past year is the soccer equivalent of what is a catch/penalty.

IMO, soccer reigns supreme across the globe because the sport is fluid, and easy to understand. During the course of a game, the officials (yes there are crooked refs in FIFA too) don't have the ability to control a game like they do in football.

With American football being a fairly complicated sport with rules, overall game play, game planning, etc, adding officials rigging the game on top of it will make it unwatchable to many across the globe.

A great example of this is one of the games earlier this year that was in London. Don't remember who was playing, but the officials were VERY one sided. This set up a perfect analogy:

You got someone new to football trying to understand the sport. While you are watching the game and explaining all the rules, down and distance, player positions, etc, you got the refs tilting it. Go ahead and explain to this person how this game is being played and not being altered. If you can't do that logically, then....well....

As if soccer isn't massively more susceptible to this than football.

Hurts didn't fumble that pick up 6?
The Eagles didn't jump offsides to give KC a first?
That call did not cost the Eagles the game.
By the way, how much money did you lose on the game?

It was the right call, even the player on the eagles called for it agrees.

The official on the play should have been let go.

For making the correct call? You want them just to call penalties at certain times of games? Lol

They let the PI call on rams go when they hit saints guy early, and this board melted. Now they should have let this one go?

they can control soccer 10x worse than football with penalties and yellow and red cards

Soccer fans pre-VAR: “That’s a ripoff, he was offsides!”
Soccer fans post-VAR: “They should just let them play!!!”

Happens a lot. SEC refs were terrible this year. Teams are not as evenly matched as they are in the NFL, so it may not appear to happen as much because a couple of calls determines the outcome of an NFL game.

Frankly, I know a lot of former athletes and only one is a referee. Nobody has the time or willingness to be a ref. I know I do not want to be one.

This is why golf is the best world wide sport.
No shitty refs coming in to interpret a call, video review a call, or miss a call.

If you think something like what you suggested actually happened, then you must also accept that, collectively, NFL execs, refs, owners, associated media driving the story lines etc are essentially the most capable and highly-functioning group of people, involved in any enterprise in the country.

This is the correct reaction.
