This is a documented thing, it's not just you. Major changes and leaps in civilization happen generationally, but now it is something every 5 years or so. Humans can't handle too much change too fast.

Also:

AI isn't being used to cure cancer, people just want deep fake porn and free labor.

Technology is indeed changing at a rapid pace, and it can be overwhelming at times. However, it's not just about age. Technology is changing so quickly that everyone, regardless of age, can struggle to keep up with the latest developments. It's normal to feel that way, and it's important to find a balance between embracing new technology and maintaining a sense of comfort with the familiar.

It's also worth noting that not all changes in technology are equally impactful, and you don't need to keep up with everything. It's okay to focus on what's important to you and what you feel comfortable using, and let go of the rest.

In any case, it's always good to stay curious and keep learning, as this can help you stay connected and engaged with the world around you.
here’s an answer to your question from an AI. Do what you will with that info.

Maybe it's just fear of change, but things seem worse than they did even 10 years ago. Much worse.

It's not devices/MySpace/Facebook/TikTok, it's lack of parenting and self-control.

You do realize that civilizations haven’t historically seen multiple paradigm/shifting innovations every decade, right?

Saying these have been on horizon since ‘14 doesn’t exactly refute the OP’s concern about living in a world overflowing with hyper-novelty

it seems like we've reached hyper mode with the rate of innovation and disruption.

It's nothing new. My grandmother was born before automobiles, the airplane, radio (much less TV), or air conditioning. She lived to watch the moon landing on her TV and travel internationally by plane.

Calcotron - "As tech becomes stupid easy, the real life skills that we old farts possess will become even more valuable. Already is."

This reasoning is an ok way to make weak lemonade in February 2023, but there will far too soon be no need for humans to do many, if any, of the things we old farts can do anymore. Technology is quickly changing the world dramatically, forever and in ways that are not intended to be survivable except by the super wealthy and a relative few servants. It is our very disturbing reality. I hope someone can prove me wrong.

Yes, but it isn't that difficult to keep up.

A lot of the stuff we knew were coming.

Fixing their shite when it breaks will be our leverage forever. Also, being prepared for things like weather events and power outages. If not for us, it would be Lord of the Flies within hours of every disaster.
