This is a documented thing, it's not just you. Major changes and leaps in civilization happen generationally, but now it is something every 5 years or so. Humans can't handle too much change too fast.

This reasoning is an ok way to make weak lemonade in February 2023, but there will far too soon be no need for humans to do many, if any, of the things we old farts can do anymore. Technology is quickly changing the world dramatically, forever and in ways that are not intended to be survivable except by the super wealthy and a relative few servants. It is our very disturbing reality. I hope someone can prove me wrong.

Fixing their shite when it breaks will be our leverage forever. Also, being prepared for things like weather events and power outages. If not for us, it would be Lord of the Flies within hours of every disaster.
