I have a 2020 Santa Fe. I installed a kill switch for $30 in parts and took about 20 minutes. It's a manual toggle that is under the dash that I can reach easily. I also have a club that I use when I park in sketchy places or anywhere in Orleans Parish.

Hyundai came out with a retrofit engine immobilizer that has to be installed by the dealer, but it costs about $400 to get it installed.

Hyundai is going to have to start installing the retrofit immobilizer for no cost as their dealers are going to be stuck with used cars that they won't be able to sell if buyers can't get them insured. And that's not even considering the negative PR.

And I just went online to Progressive and they quoted me a price, so it seems that they are still insuring in zip code 70002.

My daughter has a Kia Soul. I'm just hoping they don't raise insurance on it. It's not worth much and I'm not worried about it getting stolen where we live. But I sure don't want to pay more for it.
