Cheap Camp Ideas

Looking to put a small camp on my land in Oklahoma, but don't need anything fancy. Was thinking of a premier portable building or something equivalent. Would like to keep it under 60k. Would like to see if any of you have any other recommendations.

Older Work and Play camper with the metal roof. Way under 60k and you can keep atv/sxs in it.

I’ll definitely be following this. I’ve been thinking about going the portable building route myself

just pull a 4k fema trailer up there and live it up. Put a metal roof over it and throw a barrel in the ground for septic. They have full cooking/fridge setup with AC. I love mine.

How far from town are you? Cheap motel? Air B&B?

I put a portable building on our property for the camp. 14 x 32..
Now this was 9 years ago so they’ve probably doubled in price but I had exactly 10k in it when it was complete. I had the builder put extra large windows in it to give it a more open feel and allow light in. I wired, plumbed and finished the inside myself for the most part, so that saved me several grand.
The inside is nice with wood from and old antebellum home that was on the property.
Turned out great but I wish I’d have gone with the 14 x 36 for a little extra room, just couldn’t float it at the time.
I’m about to buy a 10 x 12 and L it out to the side for an additional bedroom and build a
deck attached for my final project.

60k? I feel like you could put a used mobile home on it for much less than 60k. Like a pretty damn nice one. I would search Facebook marketplace in the area of your land in Oklahoma and see what you find. I wish I had a 60k budget for a mobile hunting camp

Travel trailer. If you want to get fancy, build a metal carport to park it under

did a 24x30 camp for around 35k. Metal building from Mueller, Electrical, plumbing, sewage, spray foam insulated, AC/heat, finishing all included in that
That was summer of 2020. I’m sure you could do a slightly larger building for around 60k now

What he said. Used mobile home. Metal roof. Nice porch as most of your time will be spent outside.

Built a 20x40, 30k but all labor for interior electrical/plumbing/HVAC/finishing work was done by me and my dad.
Had local guys build exterior
20x40 $19,500.00
stick built
Metal roof
7 windows and 1 Metal exterior door
The remaining of the 30k was materials to complete the project. I came up with the floor plan, 3 bedroom/1 bath with walkin shower and washer/dryer.
Living and kitchen is 400 sq feet with vaulted ceiling.
very happy with the way it came out

It will end up costing you over $60k if you make it livable.

I was renting one from a feller who didn't use his during deer season. It was a 12x20 portable shed with a covered patio. It had a small bathroom/shower in a corner. I'd just cook on the grill outside. I think he had about 20k in it.

Check out the old “job trailers” or man caves that the frackers use if you can find them at the end of a boom. Add a screened in porch.

Conex box or sea land container

That’s nuts that the build out price is over $60,000 for those damn things.

Was thinking the same. They're nice, but for something that small, I just can't see spending that.
