Did his script start at 30x3 ten years ago or did it build up? Any doc writing that to start should probably lose their license. While being diagnosed at around 40 isn’t unheard of, if he truly needed 30x3, people would have thought the previous 40 hears that he was partially retarded. Anyone truly needing 30x3 is not going to be a normal functioning person without it. That is extreme dosing.
The first thing I’d recommend to him would be to switch to XRs. Take an XR first thing in the morning. He can get a supplement script of 10/20 IRs to take one after lunch if he really needs it. But that’s if he’s either a)extremely ADD or b)ADD with a career that typically requires long days of work (12+hrs).
The energy drinks alone is a red flag. 30x3 is going to affect your sleep. He’s not sleeping well so he’s pounding energy drinks and double dosing to make up for it. It’s a never ending cycle that will kill him eventually. If he can even cut back to 30x2, taking that last one before 3pm, he would probably sleep so much better and thus feel so much better. He wouldn’t need to pop pills to get out of bed and chug monsters to get thru the day.
His best bet would be take several days or a week off of work and don’t take any Adderall. Best to not to have any required appointments, responsibilities, etc. Just hang around the house, sleep, do fun shite, etc. If he really does need the meds, start back with a normal routine of XRs like I mentioned before with plenty of sleep.
