Why did Trump trust Woodward? Contractual agreement or not, Trump puts his trust in some stupid people and stupid ahit.

He didn't have to "trust" anyone. If there were anything in those tapes that was unseemly, we'd know it already. He played the game, up to a certain extent, with the media - likely knowing he might get burned. You can't hide from them for an entire administration.
The reason he's suing Woodward is to make media think twice about bending the rules to attack and slander people in the future. Especially when those rules are broken in an attempt to profit off of Trump.
