One of the reasons the NHL is my second favorite sport (soon to be favorite) is because officials can't tilt games as often. Even if they do, a power play doesn't guarantee a score for the team that isn't short handed. A lot harder to work a puck into the net from the refs as opposed to working a team down the field for football. Refs in football can literally escort a team into the end zone when they please.
