Wait…. Was that Vasher’s sword Nightblood from Warbreaker introduced at the end of Words of Radiance and given to Szeth?

That's probably the first significant Cosmere connection introduced into Stormlight (besides Hoid). Hmm.. though now that I think about it. Actually Nightblood would be second. You've met one other significant character several times by now. This will become more apparent in OB if you don't figure it out beforehand (I didn't). Also, you've read about some other minor characters too from the Cosmere.
