There is zero chance a human being killed a male lion with his bare hands. Maybe the lion was sick? Even then, a human isn’t strong enough to strangle or punch through the tough skin/fat layer of a lion.

I do think a human could choke out a lion. But that would only work if the lion allowed the human to do it. Now in a real fight, no that won't happen.
told this on here before, my great grandmother was coming home from a quilting bee on horseback one night and a panther jumped on her horse right in front of the saddle between her and sort of on the horse's neck, she always carried a set of big sewing shears in her hand when she rode at night and she just began stabbing it until she killed it, it was speculation after the panther was examined the next day that it was probably very weak and sick, probably looking for an easy meal
