It’s a bit more than Schumacher/Barrichelo. I think Schumacher appreciated RB more than Checo gets. Even stepped aside on the podium once when RB gave him track position. Can’t see Max and daddy Jos ever do that for anyone

Barrichello had his manager review his contract mid-race because Todt asked him to move over.

Allegedly of course.

Lol Alonso with a 10 second penalty. Merc team leader Russell now to 3rd.

I hate how Lawrence Stroll reserves a seat for his son, but at least he takes F1 seriously and is aggressively moving the team up the grid. Gene Haas seems to be in F1 just to sell machine tools. Every year it's the same inconsistent, mediocre results. Everyone likes Guenther, but could they do better with another team principal? Will we ever find out?

Ugh, and George of all people gets the podium.

This is a minor speed bump for max. He will still win the drivers going away.

Penalty is a bummer but no doubt the jack man was too quick. Wish they could have decided this during the race though.

Sounds so ticky-tacky. As long as the car wasn't lifted, 10 seconds sound so harsh.

This will only make AF drive harder and more purposeful and force Aston Martin to fix their shite.

Honestly, if in 2018 Horner hadn't screwed up and hired Perez, instead of hiring an available Alonzo, just to protect the fragile ego of Max, it would have been amazing fun to see the two Red Bulls fiercely competing against each other for points. Instead, Max is treated "special" and Perez's success is predicated on positioning Max to win.

I wait for the day (hopefully, this season), where Alonzo wins a few podiums over Max and Racey Spice fumes when Alonzo throws up this Horner quote from 2018 in an interview:

quote:

"I'm not sure it would be the healthiest thing for the team for Fernando to join the team. So I think our preference is to continue to invest in youth than take a driver who is towards the end of his career."

It is. I hate the penalties that are given and no discernable advantage was gained. Guess it is the give an inch, take a mile theory.

Merc #2 in WCC with a self admitted shixbox.

They need to inform the team during the race so they have an opportunity to overcome it.

bullshite to sit on it.

Wouldn't be surprised if the FIA didn't catch it and it was pointed out by Toto after the race.

100% agree. The stewards should do their investigation and make their decision within (something like) 20 minutes of an incident, and the teams should have no more than 10-15 minutes to report something that the stewards might have missed. Post-race penalties leave a bad taste in the mouth, this would be a way to mitigate them somewhat.
