The expectations at the new Alex Box are extremely high, but the team may struggle this year. Until the most unbelievable streak in the history of the SEC there was a lot of grumbling about the hiring of Mainieri. Until the streak LSU was not that far over .500 against all opponents. Who will teach pitching? There is no one that has ever taught pitchers. Calling pitches is different from teaching pitching. There is little coaching going on at fall practice, but a lot of reliance on talent level. Talent will take them only so far. What happens when they struggle and need someone to fix it?
