How to keep most of the top players for the Bengals...

Joe Burrow is a real threat to be a $500M Man! or a $55-60M per year dude

Joe Burrow- However, market rate and market term is $50M x 6 years = $300M with $200M guaranteed

or

Go straight match with Mahomes $45M x 10 years = $450M with $300M guaranteed (Wow)

Offer him less money per year's added ($2M less to each 1 year added) = $42M x 10 years = $420M with $250M guaranteed, and offer him either a cash retirement directly from the owner at $8M per year x 10 years = $80M, so he would be a $500M Man!

Therefore, from $42M per year to max $60M he could actually get, that saves $18M per year and pays Chase $18M + $7M = $25M minimum but times a 7 year deal, he would take $25M as that would give him a $175M contract.

D. Hopkins makes $27M per year x 2 years and other top WR like T. Hill has a 4 year deal that pays $30M per year. Adams makes a bit less per year but more years. Therefore, $25M per year is not bad for a long term deal, more than double of the current top paid WR.

That locks in Burrow and Chase!

Furthermore, the NFL Salary Cap is going northwards of $220M in 2023, which is an increase of $20M more than 2022

And on top of that, the Bengals have over $48M in cap space, which is another $8-10M per year on 4-5 great players to keep like Hurst, Hendrickson, Hubbard (The 3 H's)

One move I would make is to trade Higgins for a #1 draft pick plus a current WR and draft a 2-3 round WR = 2 for 1

First round pick get a OT, second round a guard and 3rd round a WR.

Keep the defense in tact with that extra salary cap room.

Team is intact for a long 5-10 year run

If that $80M retirement is not legal from the owner, then just give Burrow a minority stake in the Bengals, but no operational input (in the public eye) until he retires!

Geaux Bengals!
