I damn sure don't think he is dead but I seem to remember the "too many people" argument failing too many times for me to put much weight behind that.

Dude, not in on the idea of him not being there...

However, your argument doesn't hold much water.

over 100,000 people worked on the manhattan project and kept it a secret till the bomb was dropped. (not that everyone knew what they were working on)
