Don't think the team ever reported it as a sprain. A reporter referred to it as a sprain if I recall.

Also of note, around the same time (12/7) Devonte had what can be assumed the same injury, and I don’t believe he missed a game

Nah, the team initially reported contusion on Twitter and the 1st couple of days after it happened, Willie himself called it a contusion.

After a few days, the official report was changed to a bruise and never directly discussed again.
