How do you blame Wade for this?

HIRE A FLUNKY TO BE THE ONE ON THE PHONE MAKING THE DEALS. HAVE YOU NOT SEEN GOODFELLAS???

He’d still be the coach today if he had taken this one simple and obvious precaution.

Ask anyone around the athletic department the last 2 years, Woody did not like him and was looking for a reason to get him out.

The dude was already in over his head in alleged wrongdoing. Woody gets the gig, and needless to say Slick Willy was skating on thin ice. It’s not as if he took LSU basketball to new heights during his tenure anyway…so Woody wanted to hire his own guy. No Power 5 coach is coming to LSU to coach this program. We don’t have a Mulkey on the mens side to bring in. It is what it is. Losing sucks, but don’t watch if it’s that big of a deal to you.

You’re an arse. I don’t really understand what point you are trying to get across other than just wanting to argue with people. I want McMahon to succeed because I love LSU basketball but everything that has happened since the Kentucky game has been cause for concern, including next year’s recruiting. I have not heard a single thing about any prospect of note even considering us.

Go fire him then…have at it.

We can’t. The way Woody structured his contract, we are stuck with him 4 years minimum.

Kind of like how A&M is stuck with Jimbo. Speaking of A&M, how many tournaments has Woody’s basketball hire there been to?

He sacrificed basketball and he went and got a cheap coach. He’s paying MM near the bottom of the league and it shows.

Is that coming from you or your dad who was giving you updates from the PMAC???

My point is people need to move on from WW and stop acting like he was Coach K or Dean Smith at LSU. In fact, he was FAR from it!

You will Wade sycophants are so sad. He’s the reason we’re in this situation
.

What situation? MM has more players on this team that have started and won NCAA tournament games than Wade ever had. There are also more to 100 recruits on this roster than last year. Difference, Wade developed the talent, MM has lost the locker room. Which is really bad considering the locker room leader came with him from Murray St.

MM has a roster good enough to compete in the middle of the SEC. He’s not developed that talent, that is on MM.

Because it’s basketball and Woody has made it clear, he’s not spending money on it. Plus there are auto extensions tied to ANY sanction.

I forgot Coach K and Dean Smith only coached 5 seasons. It’s true that we have had 3 different coaches lead us to final 4s, but only Dale Brown and Will Wade had sustained success here.

This isn’t true

quote:

With possible sanctions on the horizon as a result, McMahon will get an additional season in 2029-30 if LSU is handed a multi-year postseason ban or multiple scholarship reductions for at least three years.

He gets 80% of his remaining contract if he’s fired without cause

Then that should tell you how weak our program really is on a national scale. If we, LSU fans are saying that, then perhaps that’s why we can only attract coaches from mid-majors.

Wade's teams competed. I never heard announcers say that the team wasn't competing when Wade coached. They said that several times during this game. CMM sunshine posters gonna be scarce for a while. If we're lucky, we win 2 to 4 games the rest of the year.

Not necessarily. Most “basketball schools” or schools that have won titles got their reputation from having one singular great coach

LSU is not a “basketball” school. Our athletic program is built by football first. Always will be. LSU will never be a “basketball” school just like Alabama won’t (regardless of that that ARSE coach of theirs does or does).

That "damn strong offer" was made to Javonte Smart. The same Javonte Smart that the NCAA investigated and found no wrong doing. The same Javonte Smart that continued playing for Wade and LSU and declared after his junior year.

Apparently "damn strong offer" doesnt mean what you think it means so kindly shut the frick up.

McMahon is in a year 0. Total rebuild. Have patience, if he gets it going, that’s great. If not, you move on.

It’s too early to be melting down though brother

He’s actually not. Spoke w him last week. Zero animosity towards the university. Embarrassed about result but not outright angry and wishing bad on the program He and CMM were friends and still speak occasionally.
