Wade had to hire all new coaches, he also had a two win team and didn’t have a transfer portal, didn’t have the free transfer for everyone and had players that had JJ coaching them before.
MM walked into a much easier situation.
Wade also never had us this low during year 1. We had a skid but he was still recruiting well. MM has a win over busted arse Muss. No big recruits nothing.

That year one Wade team actually had a NCAA tournament resume. They blew some very winnable games that would have gotten them in.
One concern I have long term is Wade knew how to set up scheduling to build a resume with the out of conference teams he played. He would always schedule mid majors who were going to be top 1-3 teams in their conference and it would boost their RPI. Whoever made this schedule had us playing the worst teams in D1 basketball and we still barely made it out alive.

MM walked into a program with zero players on the roster and a program facing potentially severe NCAA sanctions. What are you talking about it was easier. The record lsu had last year is irrelevant when no one on that team was still here. Wade didn’t have to start from zero to field a team. But you can thank Wade for MM walking into that

The portal lets us get people but it also allows players to leave.
