Do you all remember Burrow left Ohio St because he didn't think he could beat out JT Barrett and Haskins?

Was Burrow called a pussy, whimp, no chest, scared to compete, etc?

The kid wants to play football and this was probably not an easy decision for him to make.

Of course I would rather him stay, but I wish him luck

Burrow gave it a solid shot and after a couple years determined Urban was going in another direction. Business decision at that point.
Totally different

How so? They're both making a business decision to further their football fortunes.

Trying to think it through but I can't find one critical difference between the two.

Oh yes here we go with the ignorant Burrow transferred comparison.

Burrow graduated from Ohio St. He stayed past JT Barrett and into the Spring. He was beat out by Haskins late in his career and needed to make the move, but he exhausted his options of waiting and competing to start.

It's an absolutely ridiculous comparison.

He wasn't a pussy, whimp, or no chest because he stayed through 2 different QB battles then made his move after graduating.

Haskins was younger than he was and passed him up.

It's different. If you really can't see the difference then that's just pathetic.

I think their number of years of playing of playing eligibility would be the key difference. One had 2 years remaining and the other has 4 to move up the depth chart.

Burrow had already been told he would not start as a junior which meant he would not start as a senior either while Howard has 4 more full years to prove his mettle. Howard could easily have started for LSU in 2024 as a RS sophomore with Nuss being a turnover waiting to happen.

It’s obviously different! If you can’t see if you’re an idiot.

The Rant - “Howard sucks we don’t need him, glad he’s leaving”

Also The Rant- “he’s a piece of shite quitter scared of competition, frick him for leaving.”

These people are idiots

This dude is leaving because he wanted ZERO part of a competition. He wanted the offense and team handed to him and wanted guarantees.

How can anyone who follows lsu football not see what just happened? He found out Nuss was coming back and he is mad, so he left. He didn’t even want to compete with Nuss! That either shows a lack of fight, a lack of confidence, or just knowledge he is not as good. This dude showed what his attitude and entire makeup as a football player is. SOFTNESS. There’s literally zero debating this

Joe Burrow was a junior who lost the QB competition to a younger QB. Howard was a true freshman who just redshirted and left

You are a retard if you don’t get the difference in a grad transfer and leaving after you cried to redshirt.

The bigger issue is walker and his daddy made demands and then didn’t like them.

Otherwise no one should care that the third stringer left, there was a world where he never plays for us due to JD, Nuss and others.

Because he was an elite 5 star QB recruit from an hour away from Baton Rouge whose dad played QB at LSU and fans wanted him to sit and work for 2-3 seasons then become the starter for 2-3 seasons and win a heisman or two with back to back nattys and get picked first overall.

It’s really not that much to ask for.

I’m assuming all the people criticizing him would stay at their current employer and never leave? Would never break up with a girl/boy friend?
The dude made a decision he thinks is best for his goals. Wish him well, and next man up…

it's because you don't want to.

Burrow played over Haskins, Haskins first year, as a backup. The next year Burrow got hurt giving way to Haskins winning backup spot during season and starting several games when the starter got hurt. Now here is the two major things that CLEARLY separate the two. Burrow competed for the starting job with Haskins in the spring, but saw the writing on the wall and transfered. At that point Burrow was a redshirt JUNIOR and transferred to LSU, AFTER GRADUATING.

Basically what I'm saying is that not only did Burrow compete with a younger higher rated player for MULTIPLE YEARS for backup, he even came back in the spring to compete for the starting spot.

Howard didn't even attempt to compete for a backup spot more than one year. Why did he not even attempt to compete in the spring? I don't care what you think, this is clearly a lack of chest. Maybe he gets his easier way out at TCU or somewhere else but, if he keeps chasing the easier spot, he might never have it.

This is so ignorant. Burrow was at Ohio State THREE years. He stayed and competed for the starting job. In the spring, Myer chose Haskins. Burrow had his degree and transferred in the fall.

Howard stayed ONE semester. Competed for nothing. Has no degree.

One is a mature MAN. The other is an entitled KID.

People hating on him, but then also saying he wasn't very good anyway.

Can be both at the same time. The hate he is getting is for his demands and then crying when demands were met.

He is a third string qb at LSU. Him leaving changes nothing at all about the up coming season and beyond. It’s pathetic the melt some have over this.

1. One is Burrow the. Other is not
2. Everyone who leaves LSU has no chest. Everyone who comes to LSU is of high character and making smart decisions.

Why is Howard getting so much hate?

Because he signed just last year, under the same staff with basically the same hierarchy at QB (where he was third fiddle). Seems a tad early to bolt and burn the one time transfer and if true that he is heading to the Big 12, the bolt for a conference with so many questions in 2024 and beyond.

Burrow competed for the job at OSU....Howard never even gave it an honest effort.
