Probably Not the best but 2011 was very nice: ware, blue, ford, hilliard.

2011 was pretty stacked.

Maybe not the best, but one of the most underrated and dynamic LSU backfields was 2009. Keiland Williams, Charles Scott, Stevan Ridley, Russell Shepard and Trindon Holiday.
1997 or 1958 are the two best by far

Hilliard and James, no more needed.
Wasn't Lang, Fontenot, Eric Martin, and Bernard there also.
Bernard transferred. Martin switched to WR, Lang to Full back.
All made an NFL roster.
Stovall could recruit.

Never go full Retard. You really chose that lot when you basically just watched Fournet and Guice? Faulk, Diesel, and Rondell Mealey? Domino MF
shite Hilliard, James, and Sammy were 10x better than the room you picked.

There’s your answer Heisman and 2 NFL HOF.
Yeah, during a time when moderately athletic skinny white guys were the best athletes on the field.
The average G5 backup of today's game would smoke all of them.

C'mon man. I get your point but Cannon would likely be the fastest and strongest back on our team today. And Jim Taylor's NFL career was pretty impressive.

2012
Jeremy Hill
Magee
Blue
Ware
Ford
Hilliard
Blue tore his ACL a couple games in after starting the season as RB1 and averaging 100+ Ypg, then the OL had a bunch of injuries.
That team is one of our great “what ifs” with the injuries, Tyrann’s suspension and other personnel issues.

Kevin Faulk has something to say.

Everyone knows the best backfield in LSU history was Robert Davis, Jermaine “Juice” Williams, Jay Johnson, and David Butler in 92.

In '76 Robiskie and Alexander almost 2,000 Yards between them, that's impressive.

"Yeah, during a time when moderately athletic skinny white guys were the best athletes on the field.

The most stupid post ever. Cannon, Taylor, Robinson were all big and fast. All over 6 ft and over 200 pounds. With modern weight training, they all would have played at 220 pounds plus. Two NFL hall of famers and the Heisman winners who all played in super bowls. All of em were tough as nails.
They would smoke most power 5 players today. They were huge tough men who were fast. Jimmy Taylor was a scoring machine. Taylor wasn't as fast as the other two but he was devoted to weight lifting. He had great balance and great strength and would bowl over college and pro defensive players.
I've seen all of the players listed in this thread play both college and NFL. MY best list of RB at LSU would include TAylor, CAnnon, Johnny Robinson, FAulk, Cecil, Fournette, Guice, Charles Alexander, Hilliard, Robiskie, James, Ridley, HIll, Scott, GAjan, CEH,Hester, Addai, to name a few.
Best RB room: 1. CAnnon, TAylor, Robinson
Fournette, Guice
Faulk,, Mealy, Collins
Hilliard and James
Vincent, Addai, Broussard
Robiskie, Alexander
Dom Davis, Toefield

I will admit, Alley was one of my faves because of his bruiser style. And I miss hearing the PA announcer say "Carey carry", good ole days.

That’s like Casanova right? Not all that long ago he took a pic with those “great DBs at DBU” and he was bigger than all of them. Poor Tre White looked tiny by Doc
Cannon and Taylor were trained by Roy who Gayle Hatch learned under. Yeah that guy. Of course a skinny white kid that is 6’1” 210 lb that ran an equivalent 10.2 100 Meters- faster than Fournette couldn’t play today…

If you mean college football in general and not just LSU, Miami in the early 2000's would have to be up there. They had Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, and Frank Gore at the same time.
