I bought it from the original owner for $550. It had 78000 miles. It needed about $400 worth of work when I sold it (but at what I was earning at the time, it might as well have been $4000). I researched the car to see if I could buy it back - it was crushed.

Every time I haul scrap metal to the yard off the farm I see an old car being dropped off to be crushed and it makes me irrationally angry. If it’s not totaled from a wreck don’t crush it. Someone will buy it to restore it. Probably for more than the 3-500 bucks you get from the scrap yard

ETA not usually a high demand muscle car or anything. I’m talking about other cars that were regular drivers. Like 80s square body chevys, 70s Cadillacs, 90s tahoes, etc
