Probably less than 10%. People want a return to normalcy, the 20 represent a fringe minority and they only represent 12 states.

GOP Primary voters? I agree with you. GOP General Election voters? SFP is correct.

The math doesn’t work there.

the vast majority of Republican voters nationwide favor the “GOPe” in its current incarnation?

Yes. Just look at how many people voted for McCarthy and compare that to how many are opposing him.

The establishment GOP are not what the country wants - these 20 represent the vast majority of GOP voters.

Then why are there only 20 of them?

All of Congress just ran a few months ago.

But seriously...

Look at Garrett Graves. I promise you over half in his district doesn't want McCarthy. St Tammany as well.

The insane polarity and partisanship that's been building since 2012 or so.

I’d imagine it’s a fairly large percentage. Republican frickery gave birth to Trump. As it stands now, continued Republican frickery has given rise to 20 rebel republicans refusing to yield to the party establishment. Trump supporters by and large support their efforts.

Just so I’m clear, you’re contending that’s generally a commensurate reflection of the Republican electorate?

That’s fine and I don’t know that it is or isn’t (hence the question here). But I’d still like to see some other data on this beyond just that. I do know, it doesn’t seem like a lot of congressional races are being run on the platform that we will take office and govern as good standard bearer McCarthy type Republicans. At least for haven’t seen that a lot.

It depends on what we're talking about. Would the majority of the GOP electorate go to war for Lauren Boebert or whatever? Obviously not.

But that doesn't mean they care about this or are fans of McCarthy. The idea that the average Republican is worried about this saga is the most overblown messaging out there right now - it's amusing. The GOP has lost on every issue but guns for 2 decades and we're concerned that we may be losing credibility?

Who cares?

20 - 30%. Even at that number it’s a big enough % that they need to be listened to and not outright dismissed.

Probably. I should have phrased the question as more philosophically aligned.
