I think Mr. Wonder is dead or in prison.

I don't know about dead, but he was caught... and then let go before eventually being arrested again.

From June 2019...

quote:

Frank Selas, 79 of San Diego, Ca., has been arrested for the third time in California for an apparent parole violation since his September 2018 release from prison in Louisiana.

Selas, also known by his stage name "Mr. Wonder," is a former Monroe children's TV show host who was convicted in January 2018 after pleading guilty to indecent behavior with a juvenile. He was accused of sexually assaulting a child on a camping trip he hosted in the 1970s in Rapides Parish. As law enforcement zeroed in on him at the time, he fled the country, and wasn't captured until 2015 in California. Selas was sentenced to serve five years in Louisiana for the crime, but due to pre-trial time served and good time laws, he was released early and moved back to California. He is registered as a sex offender.

Selas is currently awaiting sentencing in California on July 8 for a separate federal case where he pleaded guilty in February 2019 to using a false name on a passport.

As it pertains to apparent parole violations, Selas has been arrested three times in California since his Louisiana release.

quote:

The latest arrest came on May 29, 2019, where according to court documents, an agent found that Selas "was in possession of a knife with a blade longer than two inches." The agent also found that Selas "was in possession of children's toys" in his home and garage.

Selas is currently in state custody until further review of the violation. The documents also list Selas' adjustment to supervision as "poor." A report also states that Selas "appears unwilling to abide by his conditions of parole."

He most certainly was. A good friend of mine, assuming we are talking about the same person. I’m sure I know numerous people in this thread. Graduated in the mid to late 70’s OPHS. Many many memories in this tread

Anyone have pictures or videos from the flood of 1991? I remember the river coming through the flood wall in WM along Trenton Street and lapping over the edges of the Louisville Bridge on the Monroe side.

Not sure who you are but you lived near the Fuchs, Tiffany Morgan and Lanny James. I was his daughter, Jennifer's age.

I lived at 38 Jana Drive until moving to Raymond Drive as a Freshman. I used to hang out at Lanny's house with his step son? Chad.

I thought Lanny was famous back then.

I ran into her in Shreveport a few years ago. Still looked like she did when I was a kid. I went out with her Daughter a couple of times. She lives in Shreveport now.

Jack McCall used to play cards and drink at my best friends parent's camp on Darbonne. I broke my ankle one time playing baseball against OCS but didn't realize it so I went to the camp with my buddy. We went to bed that night and drunk Jack McCall didn't realize we were sleeping in the room and came and sat down on my ankle. It's the first time I ever cussed at an adult.

I don't feel like a baby anymore. I feel old! I'll be 50 in February.

I went to Jack Hayes with Jessica. I remember him coming to the school to give her popsicle money and all of the boys were running around like Howard Cosell had just shown up.

The Monroe bat signal has certainly pulled all the Ouachita alums into into this thread. Not sure if anybody but me is representing that fine institution of learning on Forsythe Avenue.
