Skiing is easy. Snowboarding on the other hand is something that you have to commit time to.

The basics of skiing are easy yes. Advanced skiing is tough as hell. I have skied my whole life and am now “sunsetting” to skiing blues and greens. The difficult blacks are too much work and bumps have done as much damage to my knees as jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

Snowboarding however is the opposite - the basics are tougher but you can advance faster (not at my age though). If you skateboarded at all you get the basics of boarding.

Yes this is the adage

Basic snowboarding is harder. But getting to an advanced level is easier once you breakthrough.

Basic skiing is easier. But getting to an advanced level is a harder wall to breakthrough.

I’ve always boarded. Which is weird because skateboarding wasn’t really my thing. My friends did. I liked bmx. But have spent more time on a skateboard than most regardless.

It’s quite easy. A lot of heel and toe balancing…… literally like riding a skateboard down a hill. Like identical.

I think people freak out when they have to balance on their toes to turn toe side. Your back is facing downhill and they don’t lean enough toe side and they catch a bump and fall on their arse.

Heel side is comfortable and easy. Toe side is a little bit more technical.

That’s about it.
