Its like riding a bike, once it clicks and you can stay upright and control your speed, it gets fun. One of those things that's worth investing in a full day of lessons on day 1 the first time you go.
I learned to downhill at a young age, but in my mid 30s when my wife (no pics) and I were dating, she took me cross country skiing in WI for the first time and I hated it. Completely different ballgame, more like a workout without the fun of going fast.
