I found someone selling for $18/point with a resort I want to book. Any tips to make sure I don’t get scammed, or at the least lessen that likelihood.

I’d say just spend the little extra and use David’s or dvcrentalstore unless it’s a confirmed reservation that there is no longer availability for what you want, also research the person see if anyone else in the group has rented from that person and make sure you get a contract and go over it well to make sure it’s not one sided

It's like anything through a public forum...how much do you trust the person. Personally, I think the protection from using Davids DVC or DVC Rental Store is worth the additional cost.

As already mentioned, use David's Disney Vacation Rentals. It's the most affordable and reputable means of booking DVC rentals. If you don't mind booking your vacation 11 months in advance and paying the full amount upfront, you'll pretty much have your pick of any rental. The earlier you book the better your odds of getting what you want.

I booked the Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House for the season opener against FSU during Labor Day weekend.
